Bear Creek Contracting Ltd. was awarded the contract to replace the staircase in Gitwangak (Kitselas), BC at Battle Hill National Historic Site with Parks Canada. This location gives a wide-open scan view of the scenic Kitwanga River valley.

We began work in May 2016 on the full replacement of the staircase with a carpenter and two carpentry apprentices.The team began demolishing the current staircase and removed the debris offsite. A gravel walkway was put in place and the new stairs were installed with an inside hand railing and equipped with checker plate and mesh as extra foot grip.
